A 16 lb unstuffed turkey takes 3–3½ hours at 325°F on Butterball’s chart (USDA: 3¾–4¼ hours). Butterball says it’s done at 170°F in the thigh and breast; USDA’s safe minimum is 165°F.
These times are from Butterball’s own How to Roast a Turkey schedule. MeasureChef isn’t affiliated with Butterball; we reproduce the chart so you can plan with it, and show USDA’s time for the same weight alongside.

Butterball’s weight bands are wider, so its times are shorter for some sizes — a 16 lb unstuffed bird is 3–3½ hours on Butterball’s chart and 3¾–4¼ hours on USDA’s (Let’s Talk Turkey). Butterball also cooks to 170 °F, above USDA’s 165 °F safe minimum. Either way, the thermometer decides: start checking at the low end of the range.
USDA says a turkey roasted from frozen takes at least 50% longer than a thawed one. Butterball gives specific frozen times only for the whole breast (in the chart above).
